X6100 will not turn on unless the power supply

In need of help my 6100 will not turn on unless the power supply is plugged in as soon as i unplug it it shuts off.

Sounds like the internal battery is fully discharged. Have you charged it?

Internal battery dead. Plug it in and leave it for a few hours.

Turn off radio and charge internal battery - should read about 8.1V when done, the charger (or external supply) is removed and the radio is turned back on. The (wall wart) PS that came with the radio is just for charging. It does not have enough capacity to run the radio and charge the battery much at the same time.
